Technology · Enterprise platform fit

Build on the platform.
Work with your estate.

Your next platform decision must help you deliver faster—without adding a new integration, governance or long-term cost problem.

The OutSystems Agentic Systems Platform supports enterprise applications, workflows and AI agents. We assess its fit with your existing architecture, data, identity and operating controls before recommending a route to delivery.

The decision behind the technology

What technical teams need to establish

A faster way to build is only valuable when it works with the architecture you must maintain. Before introducing another platform or AI capability, these questions need credible answers.

Will it fit the systems we already run?

Architecture boundaries, dependencies and integration patterns must be clear before committing to a platform.

Who can access which data and actions?

Identity, permissions, security and trusted data access need to hold across people, applications and agents.

Can we release, improve and support it reliably?

Testing, deployment, quality, lifecycle management and operational ownership matter beyond the first launch.

What happens when AI becomes operational?

Human oversight, observability, AI behaviour, cost and accountability must be assessed before agents go live.

Can we prove governance is working, not just promised?

Which controls are tested before release, who approves exceptions, and how can security, audit and AI decisions be traced in production?

Will the lifetime cost and ownership stand up to scrutiny?

Understand licensing, integration, operating cost, required skills, support ownership and future exit options before you commit.

A credible route to platform fit

Extend what works. Control what changes.

We assess use-case suitability, coexistence with core systems, integration patterns and the controls required for production. The right platform decision is explained through trade-offs, not a promise that one technology fits every problem.

What the OutSystems Agentic Systems Platform makes possible

Your question is not whether a platform has more features. It is whether your teams can deliver critical applications and AI-enabled processes while retaining control of architecture, data, change and cost.

We assess the relevant OutSystems Agentic Systems Platform capabilities against your requirements, existing estate and available product configuration.

Availability, licensing, deployment options and integration fit are confirmed for the environment in scope.

Frequently asked questions

Questions worth answering before you commit

The concerns are reasonable: will this work in our estate, who controls the AI, and will we still be comfortable with the decision three years from now?

Can the OutSystems Agentic Systems Platform integrate with our existing systems?

It is designed to integrate with enterprise applications and data through connectors, APIs and related integration methods, including support for AI-oriented interfaces. We begin by mapping the systems, contracts, permissions and data quality involved, then verify any platform-specific requirements.

Does this mean replacing our legacy ERP, CRM or core systems?

Not necessarily. The first option may be to extend and modernise around systems that still perform valuable work. We compare coexistence, incremental replacement and full modernisation against cost, operational continuity and technical risk.

How are AI agents kept secure, governed and accountable?

Before production, we define each agent's authorised data, tools and actions; where human approval is required; and how behaviour, exceptions, audit trails and cost will be monitored. The OutSystems Agentic Systems Platform offers governance, access controls and observability features, but the complete control design must still be validated for the specific workflow.

How is Agentic Systems Engineering different from a standalone AI coding assistant?

A coding assistant can generate code, but production systems also depend on architecture, business logic, integrations, permissions, testing and release controls. OutSystems describes Agentic Systems Engineering as an approach that uses enterprise context and governance across applications and agents, rather than treating generated code as the finished solution.

Can we use our preferred AI models and meet deployment or data-residency requirements?

OutSystems documents support for connecting different AI models and hybrid deployment approaches. The relevant options, contractual terms, regional availability, identity controls and data flows must be checked against your organisation's security and regulatory requirements.

How do we avoid a new source of technical debt or platform lock-in?

We assess architecture boundaries, reusable assets, integrations, documentation, internal capability and operating ownership up front. OutSystems is a proprietary platform, so licensing, dependency and exit or migration trade-offs should be explicit—not discovered after the first application launches.

What should we establish before approving an investment?

Start with one priority and a measurable success criterion. Review platform fit, architecture, integration effort, cost, governance, delivery capacity and ongoing support. The result should be a defensible recommendation and a realistic route to a governed production release—not simply a demonstration.
